Why Time Management is Key to Reducing Stress

One of the most stressful things in lofe these days is not having enough time to do everything.  After all there are only 24 hours in a day, so why is it that some people manage to fit everything whilst their stressed out colleagues can’t?  The answer is because the people who can manage everything have learnt the important lesson of time management.

It’ws strange to say, but some people act as if time management does not apply in their life.  That somehow because it has the word “management” in it, it’s reserved solely for the office or business environment.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  After all, you have to be on top of all the chores, schedules and provisioning in your household, right?  Well if that’s not management, I don’t know waht is!

Time management skills are critical life skills which everyone should learn, and yet they are rarely taught in school.  However, knowing how to organize your time gives you control over your life, stops you feeling swamped and gives you the breathing space to focus on one thing at a time.

And that is the key to good time management.  Focus.

I read something the other day about a very successful internet marketer who found that he had one day a week which was curiously empty.  He had a widely successful offline business and an active social and family life but found he could fit everything into the other six days of the week.  So he took up internet marketing and within just a few months of working online for just one day a week, had achieved more success than most people do in a lifetime online.

His secret?

He decided what one thing he had to get done that day and worked on it solidly until he’d achieved it.  That’s it.  Imagine what you could achieve if you focused on one thing only til it was done!

If you want a good time management course, I can recommend one by Martin Avis.  Here’s the link if you want to check it out (it’s an affiliiate link but if you’re  uncomfortable with that, please check it out and use a non affiliate link):

It’s laid out as a  14 day program which is easy to follow.  I have met Martin and can vouch for the calibre of this product.

Whether Martin’s program is for you or not, you need to improve  your time management skills if you want to lower your stress levels.  Make sure you find the time to do it!
