Oh Why Did We Get Another Week?

Instead of using my time productively, I’ve cast around and done more research and found some fabulous websites out there covering far more than I could ever hope to cover and by people professionally trained who’ve been doing this sort of thing for years. I’m now wondering what on earth I can bring to the party!

I’ve finally chosen my niche!  Or I had.  I’m not sure now.

I’ve had a lot of problems choosing my first niche for my very own 100% written by me, info product on the John Thornhill Master class.  I started out with a list of potential topics, only to cross them off one by one as not suitable.  I’m not alone!  Which is why John Thornhill gave his masterclass students an extra week to finalise their choices.  Oh how I wish he hadn’t!

I really don’t mean that in a bad way.  I know how important it is for everyone on the programme to keep up.  It’s just for me personally; all this extra week has done is give me time to doubt my choice.

However…

I am not going to change my niche.  I am excited by it and cannot wait to get started (well I can actually as the little ones are already on holiday from pre-school so I’ve got a lot of childcare to do over the next almost three weeks!).

Have fun!  I intend to!

  1. Hi Susan,

Thank you for your comments on my blog. I am afraid to say that they went into the WordPress spam and I only just realised – so sorry, I’ll keep a better eye next time! They are now approved and firmly fixed for all to see on my blog.

So, this post – brilliant as always, I love reading your posts. I have just been reading someone else’s ideas about IM and the term they use (which I think is brilliant) is ‘a niche within a niche’. It sounds to me that is where you are heading. Be brilliant at a niche within a niche. Try to find a new angle, new topic within an established niche, a different perspective, just something that will stand out. Catchy titles will sell it for you so don’t worry if there are others doing great things – you can too!

    Enjoy the journey!

  2. Hi Susan,

Great new blog. I like the way you’re including Self Improvement into your aganda here.

We both know that the IM lifestyle, even if people acquire fast cars and yachts, isn’t neccessarily good for your personal relationships, integrity, or soul.

You’re onto a winner, and will be helping lots of people, if you can get this right.

  3. Hi Susan,
I loved this post….although I was still one of the students struggling. I follow you on the forum too and think you’re great at catchy titles. Anything in your mind for Membership sites? Or Residual Income (I still think that’s too broad) Anyway, the same thing has happened to me…while waiting to start this book I have changed my mind numerous times!
Let me know if you come up with any titles!
    Thanks,
    Kathy

  4. Hi Susan

Boy I’m glad I found your site. I have a new site, which was set up with the best intentions – trying to help newbies set up the business side of things, and finding free rather than paid resources, stuff like that.
However, it’s wandered off track, as my mental juices started me adding motivational bits – don’t give type stuff, encouragement etc.
    So, I staggered off my path . . .
Now I’ve found you, I’m going to refer my visitors your way. I like the plain speaking way you write, and the added humour. I try to bring some humour into my stuff, but it needs a lot of ‘tweaking’.
Keep it up, I will return.Regards
    Alan
